Handicrafts come in all shapes and sizes in Turkey, though beware that some items sold from the more touristy shops may not be local productions. Turkish carpets are also popular, though again be sure to check the quality as some cheaper imports are being sold now. If the seller assures you it’s an antique carpet then you shouldn’t be buying it anyway, as there are strict rules regarding the export of antiquities.
T-shirts and other clothes are often well priced, and Turkey is a great place to buy herbs and spices as they are affordable and easy to find. Leather goods too are of a high quality and reasonable price.

This traditional market place is very popular with visitors to the town and is usually quite a fun experience. The area around the bazaar is the old town, and interlaced between the bars and restaurants you’ll find numerous shops. Fethiye also has a Tuesday market where you can buy all manner of items.
